Internal Task ID

Updated yesterday

SnapInspect assigns a unique Internal ID to each new task. After a task is created, a new ID is automatically generated for the next one, making it easy to track and manage all your tasks.

How to Set Up Internal Task ID

  1. Navigate to Company Settings in the SnapInspect Web App.

  2. Click the Settings tab, then go to 'Task'.

  3. Enable the feature by checking the box for "Internal Task ID".

  4. Enter the appropriate information in the "Prefix," "Internal ID Start," and "Suffix" fields to customize the internal inspection ID format.

    • Prefix: Custom text or numbers added before the inspection ID (e.g., "APT" or "NZ").

    • Internal ID Start: Set the starting number for your inspection sequence (e.g., "1000"). The system will automatically increment it by 1 for each new inspection.

    • Suffix: Custom text or numbers added after the ID (e.g., year or inspector initials like "2025" or "JD").

  5. Once complete, click the blue "Save" icon to the right of the Suffix box.

  6. Now, each task will have an Asset ID, and when you use the export function in the Tasks List, you'll see the Asset ID against each task.
