SnapInspect assigns a unique Internal ID to each inspection. After you complete an inspection, a new ID is created for the next one. This helps you easily keep track of all your inspections.

How to Set Up Internal Inspection ID

  1. Navigate to Company Settings in the SnapInspect Web App.

  2. Click the Settings tab at the top of the page, then go to General Settings.

  3. Scroll down to the Inspection section.

  4. Enable the feature by checking the box for "Internal Inspection ID".

  5. Enter the appropriate information in the "Prefix," "Internal ID Start," and "Suffix" fields to customize the internal inspection ID format.

    • Prefix: Custom text or numbers added before the inspection ID (e.g., "APT" or "NZ").

    • Internal ID Start: Set the starting number for your inspection sequence (e.g., "1000"). The system will automatically increment it by 1 for each new inspection.

    • Suffix: Custom text or numbers added after the ID (e.g., year or inspector initials like "2025" or "JD").

  6. Once complete, click the blue "Save" icon to the right of the Suffix box.

  7. In the same section, activate the "Custom Inspection Title" by checking its box.

  8. Enter a title in the Custom Inspection Title field (e.g., "Job" or "Inspection"). This title will appear alongside the Internal Inspection ID when an inspection begins.

  9. Click the blue "Save" icon to the right of the Custom Inspection Title box.
