You can add multiple inspection types (e.g., Move In, Move Out) to a single checklist if they share the same structure (i.e., areas and items being inspected). This eliminates the need to create duplicate checklists.
How to Create an Inspection Type
- Navigate to the Checklists tab within the SnapInspect Web App.
- Find the checklist you want to add an inspection type to.
- There are two ways to add an inspection type:
- Enter the name of your new Inspection Type.
- Press Create.
Inspection Type Settings
- Navigate to the Checklists tab in the SnapInspect Web App.
- Select the checklist and then select the inspection type you want to configure.
- Click ‘Settings’. - There are three settings sections: - General- Inspections – Enable Web App Validation to allow grouping of tasks.
- Webshare/Review – Choose what is visible in Webshare and the Review feature.
- Task – Set preferences for tasks by inspection.
- Rating to Task: When editing an inspection, updating a rating will also update the associated task. - For example, if a task was created because the quick task category was rated as "Poor", and you later change the rating to "Good" while editing the inspection, the task will be automatically removed.

- Group tasks and subtasks by inspection. - For example, list all tasks related to a single inspection as subtasks under one main task (the inspection itself).
- When the main task is closed, all associated subtasks will automatically be closed as well.
