Locking an inspection in SnapInspect ensures that only users with company owner account permissions can make edits to the inspection on the web app. This feature adds an extra layer of security and control over your inspection data. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to lock and unlock inspections, as well as how to enable auto-locking for inspections.
How to Lock an Inspection
Navigate to the 'Inspections' Section
Beside the relevant Inspection click on the green 'Action' button
From the drop-down menu, choose the last option 'Lock Inspection'
A warning window will appear, informing you that once an inspection is locked, no further changes can be made unless it's unlocked. Confirm the lock action.
How to Unlock an Inspection
To unlock a locked inspection, you can follow the same steps as above by selecting the inspection and choosing the 'Unlock Inspection' option from the 'Action' button's drop-down menu.
Alternatively, you can click on the small Lock icon associated with the inspection.
Auto Locking Inspections
If you want to automatically lock inspections to ensure enhanced security, follow these steps:
Navigate to Company Settings
Click on the 'Settings Tab', then choose 'General Settings'.
Enable Auto Lock Inspections option to automatically lock inspections once they are completed and uploaded to the cloud.
