Date/Time Feature

Updated over a week ago

SnapInspect’s Date/Time feature lets you set expiry dates on inspections, helping you stay health and safety compliant by tracking items with expiration dates—like fire extinguishers.

How to Edit a Checklist Item to Use the Date/Time Control in SnapInspect

  1. Log in to the SnapInspect Web App and navigate to the Checklists tab.

  2. Find the checklist you want to edit, then click the pencil icon on the right-hand side to open it.

  3. Within the checklist, locate the area or item you'd like to update and click the blue pencil icon next to it.

  4. In the edit menu, change the Control Type to Date/Time.

  5. (Optional) You can also:

    • Set reminders: For example, if the Fire Extinguisher's expiry date is inputted while running an inspection, you can get reminders at your required frequency (ie. one month, one week before expiry, as well as reminders after the due date). Learn more about how to set this up here.

    • Assign a task category to the item so that this date falls under the correct category (ie. Life Safety Item). Learn more about how to set this up here.

  6. Click Update to save your changes.

Please note:

  • To use reminders, you must have a task template set up in your account. To learn about setting up Expiry Date Task Reminders, Please Click Here.
