How to Use AI Inspections and AI Tasks

Use AI Inspections and AI Tasks to capture inspection details, analyze photos, and create tasks using AI in the SnapInspect Mobile App.

AI Inspections allow you to describe inspection findings verbally, while AI uses the information provided to populate the relevant checklist items.

AI Tasks allow you to create tasks by describing the work required, including details such as the task title, description, and due date.

How to Start an AI Inspection

  1. Open the SnapInspect Mobile App.

  2. Navigate to the Asset/Building/Unit you want to inspect.

  3. Select New Inspection.

  4. Choose the Inspection Type you want to use.

  5. Select AI Inspection to begin.

Navigate Areas and Record Inspection Information

Once you have started an AI Inspection, you can navigate through the inspection and record information using your voice.

  1. Navigate to the area you want to inspect, either by selecting it on the screen or saying the name of the area, describe it's condition and the checklist items condition (e.g., Entry, Flooring, needs cleaning due to heavy foot traffic).

  2. Include relevant details such as ratings, observations, and any issues identified.

  3. Continue through the inspection, providing information for each area as needed.

AI uses your voice recordings and the inspection checklist to identify the relevant items and populate the inspection information.

You can also mute or unmute the microphone while completing the inspection through the button by clicking the button in the bottom-left corner.

Please note:

  • You do not need to manually select each checklist item before describing it. AI uses the information you provide to identify the relevant checklist items.

  • When using the microphone, it will be on when the square icon is displayed and muted if the microphone is displayed

Add Photos to an AI Inspection

You can take photos while completing an AI Inspection. Photos are associated with the relevant checklist items based on the inspection information provided.

To view photos taken during the inspection, press and hold the photo icon.

You can also use AI to analyze individual photos:

  1. Take or add a photo during the inspection.

  2. Tap the photos on the bottom right side to enable AI analysis for the most recent photo, where it will then display an AI icon.

  3. You can also hold the photos down to view all photos and select photos that you want to be analyzed by clicking the AI icon.

  4. AI will analyze the photos and use the results to help populate the inspection information.

Please note: AI photo analysis is optional for AI Inspections and must be selected for each photo you want analyzed. AI credits will be used for each photo analysis.

Complete and Upload an AI Inspection

Once you have finished recording the inspection information:

  1. Select the back arrow to access the inspection completion options.

  2. Choose one of the following:

    • Complete and Upload: Finish the AI Inspection and upload it for processing.

    • Go Back: Return to the inspection and keep it in progress.

  3. If you select Complete and Upload, the AI Inspection will begin processing.

You can view the processing progress in the AI section of the Mobile App. Once processing is complete, the inspection will be available as a completed inspection.

How to Create an AI Task

AI Tasks allow you to create tasks by describing the work that needs to be completed.

  1. Open the SnapInspect Mobile App.

  2. Navigate to the relevant Asset/Building/Unit.

  3. Open Tasks.

  4. Tap the + icon to create a new task.

  5. Select Create AI Task.

  6. Describe the task using your voice, including information such as:

    • Task title

    • Description of the work required

    • Due date

    • Followers

AI uses the information you provide to populate the task details.

Add Photos to an AI Task

You can add photos while creating an AI Task to provide additional information about the work required.

Unlike AI Inspections, photos added to AI Tasks are automatically selected for AI analysis.

AI uses the photos alongside your voice recording to help populate the task information.

Create Multiple AI Tasks

You can create multiple AI Tasks during the same recording session without having to restart the process for each task.

  1. Describe the first task, including the relevant details.

  2. Say "Create a new task" when you are ready to start another task.

  3. Describe the next task.

  4. Repeat this process for any additional tasks.

  5. Once finished, complete and upload the AI Tasks.

Each task will be created separately using the information provided.

Once uploaded and processed, the tasks can be viewed in the SnapInspect Web App and on the Mobile App after syncing.

Editing AI Inspections and AI Tasks

Once an AI Inspection or AI Task has been processed, you can open it to review and make changes.

Editing a processed AI Inspection or AI Task uses the standard inspection or task editing interface rather than the AI recording interface.

This allows you to review the information generated by AI and make any necessary adjustments.
