Using Tasks on the SnapInspect Web App

The Tasks feature in SnapInspect helps you track, assign, and complete inspection-related follow-ups directly from your dashboard. This ensures that nothing slips through the cracks after an inspection. Below is a breakdown of the main features and how to use them effectively.

Task List Overview

At the top of the page, you’ll see a Tasks List counter that shows the total number of open or active tasks. Each task row provides a quick snapshot:

  • Title – Includes the property address or unit.

  • Managed By – The staff member responsible for the task.

  • Task Due – Shows the task’s due date (blank in the example screenshot).

  • Category – Reflects the inspection rating for the item (e.g., Poor, Fair, Good).

  • Priority – Indicates the urgency of the task (e.g., Normal, High).

  • Item – Dropdown menu for linking or categorizing items further.

  • Inspection Info – Links the task to the specific inspection where it originated.

  • Actions – A dropdown to update, edit, or close the task.

  • Status – Displays the task’s progress.

This view makes it easy to see which tasks require immediate attention and who is handling them.

Filters and Search

The filter bar at the top lets you quickly refine to filter tasks:

  • Building & Unit – Search by property or unit.

  • Assignee – Narrow results to tasks assigned to a specific staff member.

  • Due Between – Filter by task due dates.

  • Active – Show only tasks that are still open.

  • Priority – View tasks based on urgency level (e.g., High, Normal).

  • Search – Enter custom keywords to find tasks faster.

  • Additional Filters – Select the "+" button to add additional filter options, like Keywords, Category, Status, Custom Info, Inspection Type

This is especially useful when managing a large number of properties and units.

Task Details

Each task includes key details for context:

  • Category Rating – Shows the issue’s severity based on the inspection (e.g., Poor).

  • Due Date – Helps you track when the task must be completed.

  • Priority Level – Flags how urgent the task is (Normal by default).

  • Inspection Info – Connects the task back to its original inspection, allowing you to edit the inspection directly from the link.

Actions Menu

The Action button on each task opens a dropdown menu. From here, you can:

  • Edit Task

  • View Task Link

  • View Task Reports

  • Update Task Status

This ensures tasks move seamlessly from issue detection to resolution.
