Blueprints on the Mobile App

Annotate blueprints through the mobile app to mark specific areas, providing a clear and organized way to track your asset and inspections.

There are two ways to annotate on blueprints through the Mobile App:


​1. Annotate the Blueprint for this Asset – This allows you to add and modify annotations directly on the blueprint, and the changes will apply to the asset.

2. Annotate Within the Inspection – This lets you mark specific areas on the blueprint during an inspection. These annotations will apply only to the selected item within that inspection.

How to Annotate on Asset's Blueprints on the Mobile App

  1. Navigate to the Asset: In the SnapInspect app, go to the Assets page and tap on the specific asset you want to edit. This will open detailed information for that asset.
    ​

  2. Access Asset Information: At the top-left corner, select Asset Info to view additional options for the selected asset.
    ​

  3. Open the Blueprints Section: Within Asset Info, tap on Blueprints to access all blueprints associated with this asset and select the Blueprint you want to modify, and you will have a list of options on the right to edit your blue print with:
    ​

    • Circle Icon: Adjusts the color of your annotations for easy visual distinction.

    • Line Width Icon: Adjust the width of the shape's outline.

    • Shapes Icon: Offers a variety of annotation options, including Text, Arrows, Lines, Rectangles, Custom Shapes, and Circles.

    • Hand Icon: Enables panning to move around the blueprint.

    • Ruler Icon: Provides measurement tools, including standard rulers and custom measurement options for accurate dimensions.

    • Cursor Icon: Selects and edits annotations.

    • Plus Icon: Zooms in to view details.

    • Minus Icon: Zooms out for a wider view.

    • Trash Icon: Deletes selected annotations as needed.​

  4. Save Your Annotations: Once you have finished adding annotations to your blueprint, click the Save button in the top-right corner to confirm your edits.

How to Annotate During an Inspection

  1. Access the Relevant Area & Item: Within an inspection, navigate to the specific area you want to annotate.
    ​

  2. Open Blueprint Annotation: Tap the three dots to the right of an item where you'd like to add the annotations for this item. In the pop-up menu, select Blueprint Annotation.
    ​

  3. Choose Blueprint: From the list, select the blueprint you want to modify.
    ​

4. Use the Editing Tools: On the right side of the screen, you’ll see a selection of icons.

  • Circle Icon: Adjusts the color of your annotations for easy visual distinction.

  • Pin Icon: Drops a pin on the blueprint to mark specific areas.

  • Hand Icon: Enables panning to move around the blueprint.

  • Cursor Icon: Selects and edits annotations.

  • Plus Icon: Zooms in to view details on the blueprint.

  • Minus Icon: Zooms out for a wider view.

  • Trash Icon: Deletes selected annotations as needed.

5. Add and Adjust Pins: Select the Pin Icon and click on the area where you want to drop the pin. Drag to adjust the size and position to accurately place the annotation on the blueprints.

  1. Save Annotations: Once you've finished placing your drop pins, select Save in the top-right corner to finalize and save your annotations.
