Overview

SnapInspect has a Recurring Schedules feature that introduces more flexibility, better visibility, and improved automation for inspections.

This guide walks through the new functionality and how to use it effectively.

Creating a Recurring Schedule

To create a recurring inspection:

  1. Navigate to the Assets tab

  2. Click Schedule Inspection

  3. Select your checklist (e.g. Roof Inspection Checklist)

  4. Choose your inspection date

  5. Configure reminders as needed

  6. Enable Recurring Schedule

You will now see the updated recurring schedule interface.

Daily, Weekly or Monthly Recurrence

  • Set inspections to repeat every day, week, or month

  • Define an optional end date using Close Schedule On

Close Schedule On (End Date)

This allows you to define when recurring schedules should stop.

Use case examples:

  • Seasonal work (e.g. January → March)

  • Short-term projects

  • Limited contract periods

Once the selected date is reached:

  • Recurring schedules stop automatically

  • Future inspections are cancelled

2. Weekly Recurrence with Custom Days

You can now:

  • Repeat every X weeks

  • Select specific days of the week

Example:

  • Repeat every 1 week

  • Select Monday to Friday only

This eliminates the need to include unnecessary days (like weekends) in your schedule.

3. Future Schedule Visibility

The interface also shows:

  • All upcoming scheduled inspections

  • Real-time updates as changes are made

If you adjust or delete occurrences:

  • The future schedule list updates instantly

  • You can clearly see how your recurrence is affected

4. Monthly Recurrence with Month Selection

You can now:

  • Repeat inspections monthly

  • Exclude specific months

Example:

  • Run inspections January → April

  • Skip May

  • Resume in June

How it works:

  • When April’s inspection is completed, the next one is automatically scheduled for June

  • Skipped months are fully excluded from scheduling

This is especially useful for:

  • Seasonal operations

  • Reduced activity periods

Best Practices

  • Use weekly recurrence to align with working days (e.g. Mon–Fri)

  • Use monthly exclusions for seasonal downtime

  • Always configure email reminders for better visibility

  • Use manual trigger to validate setups before going live
